Brass Lessons
At Novar Music we are proud to offer trumpet and trombone (brass) lessons in Adelaide. We employ passionate, engaged and professional teachers who intertwine their knowledge of the trumpet and trombone with the latest teaching principles.
We teach brass to any student from the age of 7 to adult.
Brass instruments (Trumpet, trombone, cornet, french horn, tuba) are very popular in school and community bands, who are often looking for new members.
We offer one-on-one and group sessions in trumpet and trombone. We find students improve faster, enjoy the instrument more, and gain more confidence with individual lessons.
Novar offer trumpet and trombone instrumental lessons for students aged 7-8 years old though to adult. We recommend this starting age as we find they are more capable of physically using the instruments and progress comes more quickly. Other great benefits of learning a brass instrument include breath control, posture, music theory and strengthening core body control.
We offer one-on-one, 30 minute lessons suitable for beginners or younger students. This offers a great opportunity to learn the basics in a time frame that is manageable for younger students. As students get older and more proficient in your chosen woodwind instrument, we will look to lengthen the lessons to 45 minutes or an hour.
We require all students to own or hire an instrument before beginning lessons with Novar Music. This enables the child to become familiar with the instrument and to further their learning at home through practice and homework. If you require help finding a great instrument, please get in touch, as we have a great network of stores we can refer you to. We recommend that you buy or hire the best instrument you can afford to ensure you can make the best sounding music possible.
Learning music at Novar has helped me become more creative, resilient, focused and calm. I’ve learnt that challenges can be approached as opportunities to learn and grow! I’m so grateful for the confidence my teachers have given me to get into music at university. They are the best!
